Earth Friendly Packaging
Our Bio Earth line of products is composed of products which are more easily integrated into a circular economy for their disposal thereby their end of life constitues the beginning of a new product. These products will be identified as recyclable, compostable, or made from already recycled material. We also include information on how these products should be recycled, reused, or disposed of and encourage you to pass this information on to your customers as well.
BioEarth bags are created with sustainability in mind. While there are still many functions that only traditional packaging can solve, there are increasingly more and more solutions offering packaging that degrades more easily or is meant to be incorporated into a circular waste stream. As no one size fits all companies needs we offer various types of styles, sizes, and materials. If you need help assessing what the best option for your company is please reach out to us so we can evaluate your use.

What is sustainable packaging?
When it comes to packaging there are important actions that can be taken to help reduce the ecological footprint of your product. Most important of all is to remember that the main function of packaging is to protect your item until it reaches your customer. Any product damaged in transit and needing to be replaced has a higher footprint than that of any packaging used to protect it.

What is a circular economy?
A circular economy is a closed loop system where materials are consistently reused. This means that rather than creating trash we reprocess the discarded materials back into usable products so as to be given a second life. This keeps trash out of our environment and reduces our dependence on virgin materials. Right now most of our virgin material is used once and is then sent to landfills or other worse yet is leaked into our environment. By using ecological packaging materials we can reduce the impact of packaging on our planet.

Biodegradable vs Compostable
The main difference between these two is that some biodegradable material will not compost whereas all compostable material will biodegrade. The second notable consideration is that compostable materials can be fed back into the system from which they came allowing them to be a renewable resource. There are various certifications and tests which standardize the quantification of biodegradability and compostability of a material.

What are bio based materials?
What are bio based materials?
Bio based materials are made from renewable resources such as plant matter. Typical plants used for this include corn, sugarcane, and wood fibers. There are various types of bio based materials and each have their strengths and weaknesses. There is no one material superior to all and the application for which it will be used is one of the most important factors to take into consideration before choosing packaging made from a bio material.
